Home Improvement, Repair, Modification & Accessibility Resources for Aging in Place

Below are a listing of resources and organizations who assist seniors with home improvements, repairs, modifications and accessibility  improvements.  This list also includes financial resources that may assist with making improvements and repairs.  Some resources may be income qualified.

Community Action Partnership of Ramsey & Washington County

A community service organization offering assistance to families and individuals with low income including energy assistance, emergency furnace and boiler services, and energy conservation and weatherization.

Help at your Door

A non-profit that offices chore assistance and home repair services, as well as grocery assistance, transportation and bundled services.

Minnesota Homeownership Center

The organization offers a number of resources for homeowners including a directory of rehab and repair grant and loan programs.

Minnesota Housing Home Improvement Programs

A variety of home improvement loans are offered through this program to repair, remodel and make energy saving improvements.  Visit the Minnesota Housing website to find participating local lenders and determine eligible improvements.

Ramsey County  

Ramsey County offers help to homeowners with home improvement and weatherization projects including a residential rehabilitation deferred loan program and an energy conservation deferred loan program.  Available to Ramsey County residents only.

Rebuilding Together Twin Cities

Services include  home safety and fall prevention modifications and ramps for older adults or those living with a disability so they can continue to live in safety and independence in their own homes.

Washington County CDA

The Washington County CDA administers a number of loan programs that can assist in financing critical home improvements.  Available to Washington County residents only.
