April 2017 Goal Setting:  Council identified as a priority, replacement of North Fire Station's fire apparatus bay and construction of a garage for indoor storage of patrol squads and administrative fire and police vehicles. 

July 2019 City Council meeting:  The City issued an RFP for consultant services to perform a related space needs study and site master plan.

October 2019 City Council meeting:  Wold Architects was selected to perform a space needs study and site master planning for a police squad garage and fire apparatus bay.

February 2020 Work Session:  Site Master Plan and Space Needs Study was presented by Wold to the Council for consideration.

November 2020 Work Session:  Council reviewed related funding options and subsequent tax impacts.

January 2021 City Council meeting:  The City contracted with Wold Architects for design and development services for the Public Safety Building Project.

September 2021 Work Session:  Wold presented the schematic design to the City Council with a project cost estimate of $12,500,000. 

October 2021 City Council meeting:  Council approved a contract with Wold Architects for the construction document design services for the Public Safety Building Project.  Council also authorized Staff to seek proposals  for a Construction Manager and present a recommendation for such services at a future City Council meeting.
