Proudly registered with the Ice Sports Industry (ISI), the White Bear Lake Skate School provides quality skating lessons for beginning to advanced skaters of all ages. Our skating program strives to teach skating skills to recreational, hockey and competitive skaters to promote a life-long love for ice sports and recreation. 
 

Skating Lessons - General Information

Skating lessons are offered throughout the year. Beginning classes tend to fill quickly. Class fee includes membership with ISI (Ice Sports Industry) which is an international association that encompasses all aspects of the ice skating industry. Skaters receive excess accident insurance, ability to earn badges when levels are passed and opportunities for competition and shows. 

  • Beginning skaters ages 3-5 - Register for Tot 1
    • Due to high demand for Tot 1 lessons, skaters must be 4 years old at the start of class starting Fall session 2024.
  • Beginning skaters ages 6-12 - Register for Pre-Alpha 
  • Beginning skaters over age 13 - Register for Teen/Adult class
     

2024 Spring Skating Lessons

Four week session offered on Tuesdays and Saturdays March 26 – April 20, 2024. Limited space available for Tot – Delta levels. Online registration February 20 – March 20, 2024

2024 Spring Contract Ice

April 29 – May 19 White Bear Lake Sports Center will be closed for ice and building maintenance.  Spring Contract ice will be offered March 25 – April 24 and May 20 – June 7, 2024. Online registration February 20 – March 20, 2024

Advance ticket sales for the 2024 ice show will begin on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 in the main office. Advanced tickets will cost $10 for persons 13 or older and $8 for persons 12 years or younger. A three-day adult pass is $27. Skaters participating in the show do not need a ticket. Advanced tickets, including three day passes must be purchase by the end of day on Thursday, April 25.  Tickets sold after Thursday, April 25 will be sold at the door only.  $12 for persons 13 or older and $10 for persons 12 years or younger.
 

2024 Summer Skating Lessons

Session 1 Tuesdays June 11 – July 16 (6-week session)
Session 2 Tuesdays July 23 – August 27 (6-week session)

  • Online registration for BOTH sessions will begin May 6! If registering for both sessions, sign up for the same class for both sessions.
    • Summer Session 1 registration ends on June 6. 
    • Summer Session 2 registration ends on July 16. 
  • Beginning classes fill very quickly. If classes listed are full, register for the waitlist. You will not be charged until you are activated from the waitlist.
  • New skaters 3-5 years-old: Register for Tot 1. Beginning Fall 2024, skaters must be 4 years-old to register for Tot 1.
  • New skaters 6 and older: Register for Pre-Alpha.
  • We cannot provide make-up classes for missed lessons.
  • We reserve the right to cancel, combine or change class times based on enrollment.
  • Cancellations after the second week of lessons are provided only to those with serious illness or injury. You will be charged for all lessons prior to notification date.
     

2024 Summer Contract Ice

Online registration for summer session will be May 6 - June 6.

  • Skaters have through June 6 to purchase the session at rates listed in the linked document above. 
  • After June 6, the following buy-on rates will apply:
    • Early Morning Ice 6-7:30 am            $12 buy-on rate
    • Any Contract Ice after 7:30 am       $16 buy-on rate
