Licensing for Trades

Mechanical Contractors, General Commercial Contractors & Tree Trimmers are required to obtain an annual local city license.  City of White Bear Lake licenses expire on December 31st annually.

Application process:
-Mail your application, insurance (see pg 3 of application) and fee shown on the application to Building Dept., 4701 Highway 61, White Bear Lake, MN 55110.
-Email your application and insurance to buildingdepartment@whitebearlake.org - once received, we will respond with your payment amount & options.

Each permit type has different state and local licensing requirements.  Please see the Licensing Information Handout for licensing requirements.  Please direct questions about Trade Licenses to the Building Department at 651-429-8518.

The list of registered tree contractors is not an endorsement or recommendation by the City of White Bear Lake, rather it indicates these companies have met the City’s licensing requirements and are authorized to work in the City of White Bear Lake.
