Fireworks-Related Permits

The City of White Bear Lake regulates the sale of fireworks within its jurisdiction under Section 1126 of the Municipal Code.  Complete the Sale of Fireworks Permit application below.

The White Bear Lake Fire Marshal is tasked with regulating outdoor display of fireworks and pyrotechnic special effects within the City to ensure compliance with the State Fire Code.  Complete the Outdoor Display/Pyrotechnical Application below.

Once an application for either Fireworks Permit has been made and the product is in place, please notify the White Bear Lake Fire Department, or designee, to conduct an inspection of the sales structure or storage structure to determine compliance with federal, state and local requirements:  651-429-8568. 

For merchants who plan to operate out of a tent, complete the tent application below which will ask you to upload a site plan including tent location and specifications.

No person shall exercise, carry on or be engaged in the storage or sale of authorized fireworks within the City of White Bear Lake without having first secured a license as provided in Chapter 1126 of the Municipal Code.

Temporary tents or membrane structures having an area in excess of 400 square feet require a building permit in the City of White Bear Lake.  Examples of these are garden centers, firework sales & other special events.  If signage is needed for your tent, it will require a sign permit.
