Electronic waste is waste that has a circuit board, a cathode ray tube (CRT), or contains heavy metals such as lead, cadmium or mercury that are harmful to human health and can pollute our air, land and water if thrown in the garbage.
 

What is Electronic Waste?  

  • Audio equipment, including CD and MP3 players, radios, speakers, stereos, and remote controls
  • Computers, including laptops, tablets, CPUs, and monitors
  • Computer equipment and peripherals including keyboards, speakers, printers, and fax machines
  • Desktop printers, scanners and copiers
  • Data storage devices, including USB and external hard drives
  • DVD players and VCRs
  • Game consoles and handheld game systems
  • Stereos and portable media players
  • Tablets and e-readers
  • Telephones, including cell phones, cordless phones and answering machines
  • Televisions
  • Video equipment, including cameras and camcorders

Drop off electronics at the Washington County Environmental Center.

Ramsey County is partnering with Repowered to offer free electronics recycling to Ramsey County residents. E-waste from businesses is not accepted through this partnership.

The City of White Bear Lake accepts electronics from residents at the city-wide Cleanup Day held twice a year, each spring and fall.

Your residential garbage and recycling hauler will pick up electronics for a fee, however, pre-arrangements must be made.  Please contact Republic Services at (952) 941-5174.
