Citizens Police Academy

Citizens Police Academy is an approximate 10 week course taught by White Bear Lake Police Officers to become familiar with police work and how the community can help prevent crime. The course covers a variety of topics consisting of both classroom lectures and "hands on" experiences in law enforcement.  Topics of discussion include required police training, crisis intervention and de-escalation, domestic abuse intervention, traffic enforcement, narcotics, criminal investigations, police use of force, internet fraud and crime prevention.  Participants will also have an opportunity to participate in a "ride along" with the White Bear Lake Police Department.

Reference the bottom of this page for more details along with the application form!  Applicants are also asked to submit a criminal background check with their application, also provided below.  All applicants are subject to the final approval by the Chief of Police.
