Adopt-a-Fire Hydrant

Hydrant

Winters in White Bear Lake can be cold and snowy, with an average of 52 inches of snow annually. If there was an emergency in your neighborhood, could firefighters locate the closest fire hydrant? Chances are you know where they are located and can help maintain access to them.

What does it mean to Adopt-A-Hydrant?

This program asks community members to clear snow and ice 3 feet around fire hydrants and clear a pathway to the street. This will allow firefighters to focus on fire department operations during emergencies when every second is critical.

How do I sign up?

Use this interactive map to find and sign up to adopt a fire hydrant.  First, click the green hydrant, then edit by clicking the dots, enter your information, then save and close.

If you experience any problems, feel free to complete this webform below and be as specific as possible about the location of the hydrant that you intend to adopt.

Include fire hydrant number if known.
