Housing Task Force - Application Period is Closed

A White Bear Lake Housing Task Force will assess policy options and provide recommendations to the White Bear Lake City Council to meet the city’s short and long-term housing needs.  The city is seeking a diverse group of community stakeholders including residents, county and school district representatives, business leaders, people who work in the city and city staff to participate on the task force, particularly from groups and individuals who have not historically been involved in government processes in the past. 

The Task Force will meet virtually up to eight (8) times between April - December 2021, on the first Wednesday of each month from 7:00 p.m.– 8:30 p.m.  Attendance at two virtual community forums will also be required.  In-person options will be considered when social distancing requirements are no longer necessary.

Task force members can expect to participate in facilitated conversations that are informed by presentations from housing and development experts, housing related data, and the results of a housing survey.  If in person meetings become an option during this process, childcare, snacks and refreshments will be provided during the meetings.
